Disclosures

  • Your treatment information is confidential with a few exceptions: If written consent is given to coordinate health care with other practitioners; if there is reasonable suspicion of child, elder, or dependent adult abuse; if you disclose you are going to harm another person, I have a duty to warn the authorities,  or if I suspect you are going to harm yourself. Additionally, AB1775 requires that I disclose to local authorities any downloading or accessing of child pornography reported by my patients. In addition, your mental health information may not be private or confidential in certain circumstances. For example, if you decide to use your insurance to reimburse you for our sessions, they have the right to request access to your records to assure appropriate treatment is being provided.

  • Under the law, healthcare providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

  • If you would like to verify my license visit the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) at https://search.dca.ca.gov  My California license number is MFC #47351.

  • If you believe there is a serious ethical or legal violation on my part, or on the part of any therapist, you may file a complaint by using this link.

Policies

  • I do my best to offer a consistent, reliable meeting time for us at the same time and day each week. Therefore, if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice for any session, you will be charged your normal fee, unless we can reschedule within that same business week.

  • I do not take insurance, but it may be possible for you to be reimbursed by your insurance provider for our sessions as I am an out-of-network provider. Upon request, I provide Superbills monthly for you to submit to your insurance company.
